Remembering Nipsey Hussle

Yesterday, there was a huge switch in energy that could be felt everywhere. Rapper and Activist Nipsey Hussle was shot in front on his store on Slauson Ave in Los Angeles. Nipsey Hussle has done alot for his hometown in south Los Angeles. The 33 year old promoted ownership and positivity to his fans and everyone that he came in contact with. In February, Nipsey Hussle and his partner David Gross brought the entire plaza on the intersection on Salusone & Crenshaw. The city had plans of building a 6 story residential building. The two also had a coworking space and STEM incubator for young people from Los Angeles to learn how to build their own businesses. They were also invested in bridging the gap between minorities and CEOs in Silicon Valley. Nipsey Hussle also donated tons of money and shoes to the kids at the elementrary school in the local area. He owned several businesses in that area as well. Aside from his investment in the community, Nipsey Hussle was a Hip Hop artist. He recently won Best Rap Album at the 2019 Grammys for Victory Lap. In 2010, he released an album and sold 1000 hard copies for $100 each.

During that time, he met long time girlfriend Lauren London. The two had a son together who he leaves behind, beside his daughter from a previous relationship. Lauren London and Nipsey Hussle recently did a GQ interview where they talked about how much Nipsey knows Lauren. GQ magazine also photographed the two at different locations on Slauson Ave which included a legendary picture of the couple and a white horse. I can't imagine the pain that Lauren London and her family are feeling at this time. She has not spoke out but she is known to be a very private person. She was one of the last celebrities to create an Instagram account. Celebrities like Drake, Karen Civil, Meek Mill. Lebron James, The Game, Nas, Angela Simmons, Pharrell and so many others took to social media to express their deepest hurt toward the situation. Nick Cannon vowed to continue the documentary that Nipsey Hussle began to work on about Dr. Sebi, a herbalist and healer. If you don't know him, Google Him. Yesterday, social media was in a frenzy and it continues unto today. At the time, police have arrested the man who is said to be responsible for the shooting. My heart goes out to Nipsey Hussle's family and loved ones. He will go down as a legend for sure.
